In 1992, Peter Pfendler planted the first vineyard on our family’s Sonoma Mountain ranch with the goal of creating beautiful, hand-crafted wines. Since then, we have planted three additional vineyards that flow from the peak of the mountain to its base. The maritime influence of the Sonoma Coast touches each of our vineyards differently, providing a broad palate of exceptional, cool-climate flavors.

Raised in a food-centric family, Erica Stancliff credits her mother’s authentic Italian cooking for shaping her palate, but credits respected winemaker and family friend Paul Hobbs with guiding her to the realization that winemaking was her calling. 

Erica first worked with Petaluma Gap fruit in 2010, became Vice President of the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance  in 2018, and President in 2019. She met Kimberly Pfendler during a blending session of the PGWA’s auction lot

Nestled in the hillsides of Sonoma Mountain, Pfendler Vineyards is a family-owned winery dedicated to cultivating the finest estate-grown wines.

Pfendler is located in the Petaluma Gap region of the Sonoma Coast. Pfendler farms 19 acres on four estate vineyards on the western slopes of Sonoma Mountain. The vineyards extend from the top of the mountain to its base, allowing a diverse variety of climates, exposure and elevations.

Our wines are handmade, using the best possible fruit.

 100% Pinot Noir 

Brilliant ruby in color, with luxurious aromas of black raspberry, plum, black tea, violets, herbs and tobacco. On the palate, flavors of blackberry, red apple, cherry, clove, baker’s chocolate are balanced by fine-grained tannins and long, layered finish

 100% Chardonnay 

Heady aromas of lemon curd, nectarine, mandarin orange, honey, lanolin and vanilla continue to the lush mid-palate where flavors of peach compote, nectarine, green apple and lime coalesce on the long, luxurious finish.
